The Bravery of Emptiness is DEERMX’s most recent EP. The band has passed through a rollercoaster of emotions that led to this selection of tracks. All of them are linked by deep experiences embedded in the sound of the songs. All have different thematic; all portray different experiences. In this brief impasse, it is easy to feel empty, but what if, for a moment, we dare to be real and not be the example of a perfect, commercial music product? All these songs had a strong attitude and non-complaisant discourse. Stripped of the complacent illusion of the music industry, the songs smile to the risk of being ourselves, some said avant-garde, some said conceptual… we just say brutally honest.
The Arrogant
With a sound more inclined towards alternative rock, complex beats, and sarcastic lyrics, The Arrogant is a biting but subtle critique of the world of “The Arrogant.” This character disguises himself as a CEO, an influencer, a celebrity, your boss, your curator, the booker, or the gallery owner. You never know where he is hiding, as his strength lies in his sense of superiority and dishonest kindness.
“Face of Buddha and soul of scorpion,” says an old Chinese proverb, the song with a more personal tone, speaks of inner strength, of the victim of the arrogant, and to this end, he embarks on a powerful sonic journey that confronts the darkness of these beings disguised as goodness. Break with a mantra: No matter why, No matter who, or how great you are, life always ends with nothing. You cant destroy me. The drums make this mantra find light in a rhythmic explosion, giving a special sound to the spiral of sounds.
